In Aesop's The Tortoise and the Hare, the hare challenges his slow friend to a race. Sure of his victory, the hare stops for a nap, only to wake in time to see the turtle shuffling to victory. Here the competition is a sack race, as the two animals test their perseverence--yet, in the end, the turtle still finishes a hare ahead.
