Elephants are known for their memory, and for their gentle nature. But if provoked, they can attack. As working animals and circus attractions, hunters and performers rode on their backs, perhaps chasing another animal—a tiger, for instance. Now the tables have turned: the tiger is sitting on top of the elephant, contentedly rubbing his belly, as a telling pith helmet rests at his feet.
